Academic Related

ACA 115 Success and Study Skills (0-2-0-1)
This course provides an orientation to the campus resources and academic skills necessary to achieve educational objectives. Emphasis is placed on an exploration of facilities and services, study skills, library skills, self-assessment, wellness, goal-setting, and critical thinking. Upon completion, students should be able to manage their learning experiences to successfully meet educational goals.. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Credit: 1 semester hour.

Information Systems

CIS 110 Introduction to Computers (2-2-0-3)
This course introduces computer concepts, including fundamental functions and operations of the computer. Topics include identification of hardware components, basic computer operations, security issues, and use of software applications. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role and function of computers and use the computer to solve problems. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in natural science/mathematics (Quantitative Option). Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Credit: 3 semester hours. Credit: 3 semester hours.

Physical Education

PED 110 Fitness and Wellness for Life (1-2-0-2)
This course is designed to investigate and apply the basic concepts and principles of lifetime physical fitness and other health-related factors. Emphasis is placed on wellness through the study of nutrition, weight control, stress management, and consumer facts on exercise and fitness. Upon completion, students should be able to plan a personal, lifelong fitness program based on individual needs, abilities, and interests. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement. Prerequisites: None Corequisites: None. Credit: 2 semester hours.

SCI 110 Principles of Science (3-2-0-4)
This course introduces basic principles of chemistry, physics, and biology. Emphasis is placed on chemical reactions, energy forms, and ecological studies. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate mastery of the scientific method of thought and a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, and biology. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Credit: 4 semester hours.

Spanish

SPA 111 Elementary Spanish I (3-0-0-3)
This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate cultural awareness. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in humanities/fine arts. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Credit: 3 semester hours.

SPA 112 Elementary Spanish II (3-0-0-3)
This course is a continuation of SPA 111 focusing on the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with increasing proficiency to spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate further cultural awareness. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in humanities/fine arts. Prerequisites: SPA 111. Corequisites: None. Credit: 3 semester hours.

SPA 181 Spanish Lab I (0-2-0-1)

This course provides an opportunity to enhance acquisition of the fundamental elements of the Spanish language. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through the use of various supplementary learning media and materials. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate cultural awareness. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Credit: 1 semester hour.

SPA 182 Spanish Lab II (0-2-0-1)
